ABOUT US & HISTORY

Provisions of Grace was founded by Kelly and Chris in 2016 to provide Christian-Guided Outreach to families, children, and individuals in need.

Registered as a 501c3 Non-Profit Organisation in the United States, we have a global impact.

Going straight into the townships, we helped overpopulated home-run day-cares, teaching English through activities, videos, and Bible stories. All with a God-Given heart of Love for each child.

With humble beginnings, the Lord sent us out from the United States to help the poverty-stricken families and children around Cape Town, South Africa; bringing the Love of God into the homes of so many in need.

From volunteering in food kitchens, to one-on-one school tutoring, we connected with so many families in need of Love. Some with drug or alcohol addictions that are a noticeable problem within these adverse poverty areas.

Connecting with local churches, we were able to help with a bus ministry, organising children’s churches, partaking in Home-Cell Bible Study groups, and guest-pastoring.

Visiting underprivileged government hospitals, doing street ministry, and going into the homes of many families, we saw the move of the Holy Spirit in miraculous physical healings of individuals; along-side the Father-Driven Compassion the Lord has for each person.

All-the-while, personally facing ongoing persecutions towards us, against the Love we were bringing and demonstrating.

By the end of 2016, the Lord led us to a foster home with a small school of 88 children in a rural area. Sadly, we saw a school in desperate need of help—not only in need of teachers and finances, but of a new heart (as corporal punishment was still occurring from teachers and the principal—causing the children to fear coming to school). They needed Love!

Having been asked to take over the failing school, we started to bring the Love of God back into it, the children, staff, and families. Kelly as the Principal / Director of Education; and Chris as the Chairperson / Director of Operations.

By 2018, the school had grown to 120 children, many of them having learning disabilities and deleterious home environments who we were able to give special attention to.
With the South African government’s inability to provide enough schools for the children, our independent school filled that need. Where government schools mandate 45 learners per class per teacher, we had no more than 24 per class per teacher. All while keeping school fees as low as possible.

Yet, even with the government not able to adequately meet the needs of the education of the children in the area, they did not provide us the means to sustain, grow, and develop our low-fee school on the rural plot of land we were on. Thus, we were forced to relocate, and the “Save our School” campaign began.

And with the immediate help of the global organisations: project:help in Germany and Wings of Support with KLM Airlines in the Netherlands; along with the individual donors in the States, and so many of you personally… the school was rescued!

And a new urban school developed, called: Crosspoint Academy – Strand.

2019 allowed us to begin further growth, progress, and expansion of the school in our new location—developing into now have separate Primary, Middle, and Junior-High areas (from Pre-Kindergarten up to Grade 9); as well as beginning to double-up each grade every year (still maintaining 24 learners per class per teacher).

Flourishing, as well, in diversity of cultures, nationalities, and educational needs.

With the continued expansion, and being in an urban area without a sports field, we were able to create a safe roof-top play area—perhaps the first of its kind in South Africa.

Also creating a new fully commercial kitchen for a food program, larger lunchroom, and more classrooms. All while still keeping the school fees low for those families and children—now partially subsidised by the government.

Yet, as we were hitting our stride with the school, 2020 brought about the adverse difficulty of the covid pandemic—a global catastrophe.

Like so many of you (individually, with your businesses, organisations, churches, and life), the impact was too much—trying to survive mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, and financially… for you, for your family, and for all your and our children.

For two years we each had to face the reality of this change—still reeling and recovering in the aftermath of it.

Yet, we never gave up hope in the Lord to see Provisions of Grace through, as well as the school.

Social distancing and closures of schools was the norm.

But we persevered, and had to start rebuilding hope, trust, resilience, health, and education.

At the start of 2022, with the children finally able to attend classes unrestricted, we immediately noticed the affect the pandemic had on the children—not only academically, but socially, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

A new need arose—but one we had already been tackling, but now more heightened—the need to address Educational Gaps, Language, and Learning Barriers: whether the child is Neuro-Diverse, Autism Spectrum, ADHD, Dyslexic, ODD, Foetal Alcohol Syndrome, or experiencing Trauma, the school is being set up to provide these children with much needed Student Support (with the resources, staffing, and training necessary to assist).

This is where the school pursues its Holistic Wellbeing approach to each need of the child. Seeking to enrich this schooling environment with specialised educational resources, remedial classes, sensory rooms, a rooftop garden, and roof-top jungle-gyms.

This continued development and support of Crosspoint Academy in South Africa (alongside the schools’ partners in Germany) is part of who we are.

Yet, Provisions of Grace is not just here for schools; this school is but one avenue the Lord called us to. Our call is to all people: furthering relationships with schools, organisations, businesses, churches, and people in the United States and across the globe.

Mental, Emotional, and Physical health is a primary core of what is at the heart of Provisions of Grace—not just for children, but for everyone, of any age, for all people.

This, along-side Spiritual health in helping break down “Christian Religion” into what is truly the Lord’s Heart—Trusting the Father in relationship with Him.

This includes a 52-part (year-long weekly) Bible Study Lessons series titled “Trusting the Father” which helps break-down religious and personal barriers to understand who the Lord is. Also providing insight and meaning to our life-journey. Delving, not only into our relationship with the Lord, but our relationships with each other.

Tackling topics such as: The Character and Nature of God; Health and Healing; us as a Tabernacle (Body, Mind, Soul, Heart, Spirit); Salvation, Filled with the Holy Spirit; Loves; Storms of Life; Our Duality (Flesh & Spirit), Overcome the World, and Freedom.

This series is available free on our website for download; along with ongoing YouTube Videos for these lessons and more.

And for us to follow God’s plan for our lives: for God to use us to win the lost, for God to use us to heal the sick, and for God to use us in powerful ways to demonstrate His influence. His Biblical calling on our life:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to proclaim Good News to the poor (the destitute); sending us out to heal (make whole) shattered hearts; to herald our deliverance from the bondage that has kept us captive; to restore the sight to those who are blind (physically or mentally); to appoint freedom and forgiveness to all who feel crushed and broken; and to proclaim this ‘now-time of acceptance’ with the Lord. - Luke 4:18-19

God Bless.
